Welcome to The Lighthouse – Character Based Residences

At The Lighthouses, we believe that the right environment can help shape a young person’s future.

Our residences are more than just a place to stay. They are character-based homes designed to provide guidance, purpose, and independence for teenagers and young adults who need support, structure, and an opportunity to grow.

We have created The Lighthouses to be a place where young people feel safe, valued, supported, and challenged in the right ways — a place where they can develop the foundations needed for a more positive and independent future.

Whether you are a parent, NDIS support coordinator, case worker, or someone exploring the next step for a young person you care for, we invite you to learn more about how The Lighthouses operate and whether one of our homes may be the right fit.

What Are The Lighthouses?

The Lighthouses are intentional residential environments built around the principle that environment shapes behaviour.

When young people are surrounded by healthy expectations, strong role modelling, consistent support, daily structure, and personal accountability, real growth can begin to take place.

That is why our homes are designed to do more than provide accommodation.

They are designed to help young people:

Develop healthy habits and routines
Grow in life skills and personal responsibility
Strengthen resilience and emotional awareness
 Move toward greater independence
Positive guidance and support in everyday living

How The Lighthouses Operate

Our approach includes:

A Structured Environment

Young people benefit from routine, rhythm, and consistency. Our homes are designed to promote healthy daily habits, personal responsibility, and a stable environment.

Character-Based Support

We focus on values such as respect, responsibility, honesty, contribution, self-discipline, and resilience. These are not just spoken about, they are built into the culture of the home.

Life Skill Development

Residents are supported to develop practical skills that will help them in everyday life and future independence. This may include daily routines, personal care, household responsibilities, time management, communication, and decision-making.

Guidance and Accountability

We believe in supporting young people with care while also helping them understand that choices have outcomes. We aim to create an environment where personal growth and accountability work together.

Preparation for Independence

Everything we do is aimed at helping young people move toward greater confidence, capacity, and readiness for independent living.

Who The Lighthouses Are For

The Lighthouses are designed for teenagers and young adults who would benefit from a supportive, structured, and growth-focused residential environment. They suit NDIS participants with at least 15 support hours a week and have a youth allowance, Disability Support Pension or funding for rent and living costs.

This may include young people who need:

  • A stable and positive living environment
  • Support with building confidence and self-belief
  • Guidance with routines, habits, and daily living
  • Help developing independence and life skills
  • An environment that encourages accountability and growth
  • A values-based residence that focuses on the whole person, not just accommodation

  • Confidence
